Are you really convinced that to stay healthy you need to eliminate fat from your diet?

Body care, wellness promises are increasingly on the agenda and enrich the countless sources that have appeared on the internet with content. In this jumble of true and false news, a false myth is rapidly spreading that directly calls into question the modern concept of well-being and its most imaginative discoveries. Have you ever heard of the urban legend that to stay healthy you need to eliminate fat from your diet?

Eager to shed light on an increasingly popular belief, our ambassador Silvio Petta di lose weight in a short time; all these sources start from an indestructible assumption: eliminating fats from the diet is equivalent to losing weight and therefore staying healthy.
The basis of the modern promise of wellness would therefore be the unfounded belief that the well-being of the body coincides with the loss of body weight; the arbitrariness of this position is striking, which in no uncertain terms confirms the certainty of this absolute link.
In truth, as often happens, reality is more complex and involves important and multiple scientific concepts.

To definitively clarify the false myth, our ambassador Silvio Petta decided to consult an expert on the subject and turned to Dr. Luca Piretta, a competent gastroenterologist and nutritionist. The intervention of Dr. Piretta was decisive in recognizing the importance of fats, which are essential for many reasons; among others, fats carry fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, K and allow the synthesis of anti-inflammatory molecules, which are synthesized by our cells from these.
In further confirmation of the role of fats, the expert stressed that they are a fundamental part of a balanced diet. The idea that in order to feel good it is necessary to eliminate fats is therefore misleading since it does not take into account the important functions performed by fats for the proper functioning of our body.
Still not convinced? Think then of the case of extra virgin olive oil, consisting of 99% fat, which is an essential food for human health as well as being one of the symbols of the Mediterranean diet. If you want to know more and learn more about the topic, read the expert's answer here.
