News of the death was released from New York Post and a tweet from Wall Street Journal: the lifeless body of the actor was found in his home in Manhattan at about 5 pm Italian time. According to some rumors, the cause of death is attributable to an overdose. Already last year, in May, Philip Seymour Hoffman was admitted to a clinic for heroin abuse.
