The diet for the gym is essential because, on the one hand, it creates all the necessary conditions for achieving optimal performance, on the other, it allows a more effective post-workout recovery.
But what to eat before going to the gym?
It is important to select foods that are highly digestible, which have a "high energy density and carbohydrate prevalence."
Which, translated from the Medichese, means to prefer unrefined carbohydrates and proteins, as in the case of these recipes:

  • chicken breast with brown rice, which provide a lot of energy and low fat
  • Sweet wholemeal toast with a spoonful of honey or savory wholemeal toast with turkey breast and salad, both of which are high in slow-release fiber
  • a "chickpea salad in lemon juice, super protein and fat free

Ideally, the meal should have around 300 calories and should be consumed at least three hours before training.
Instead, as a snack for the gym, choose a fruit: avoid avocado and coconut and opt instead for a banana that, rich in potassium, protects the muscles during physical performance.
Make sure you eat it at least half an hour before your workout starts.
