7 tips for a shiny, clean and fragrant bathroom
Whether you are a clean freak or have children at home, the hygiene and cleanliness of the bathroom is essential. But are there any tricks to keep it hygienic and shiny without having to work too hard?
Remove the limescale from the bathtub
The traces of limescale in the bathtub give the impression of dirt, even if you clean them every day. To remove them, do not use products intended for the toilet, which are too aggressive, but rather choose natural products. Cover the limestone areas with a thick layer of coarse salt and pour boiling table vinegar over it.If that's not enough, repeat the operation.

In order not to slip, you had glued an adhesive carpet to the bottom of the tub or shower, but it is worn out and comes off… leaving horrible traces of glue! Don't worry: first of all open the windows well, put on protective gloves and goggles and spread a thick layer of methylene chloride based solvent with the help of a brush. Leave it on for a few minutes and gently scrape it with a spatula. Give it a wipe with a sponge and rinse thoroughly.
Clean the space between the tiles
What a horror to see those black traces in the space between two tiles! But fear not, there is a remedy! After putting on protective gloves, mix - at your choice - water and natural detergent, water and bleach, water and potassium (one dose of potassium for 2 or 3 doses of water) or water and of muriatic acid. Use this mixture to clean the seams between the tiles with a stiff brush, such as a toothbrush. As you go, rinse thoroughly. To prevent the seams from blackening again, coat them with clear varnish.

Clean windows and mirrors by first wiping with a clean, damp microfibre cloth, then with a glass microfibre cloth.
If the surface shows traces of grease, use a few drops of the glass product. If you prefer grandma's methods, rub the glass with hot vinegar or with newspaper soaked in alcohol. If the traces of grease persist, rub them with an onion slice and then wash the surface.
If you just need to dust, use a microfiber window cloth, wet or dry.
Clean the sanitary fixtures in acrylic material
To clean acrylic sinks or tubs, use a sponge and a non-abrasive household product. To avoid traces of limescale, always remember to rinse and dry the surface well. Never use descaler, white spirit or alcohol. If the surface is streaked, pass a bit of very fine sandpaper with water and then spread a liquid polishing paste. The metal traces will go away using a nylon brush and a household product.

The tiles can be cleaned with a sponge soaked in water and black soap or with water mixed with a little bleach. Don't forget to rinse well. If the tiles are very dirty, scrub them with a brush dipped in water and bleach. Remember that glass products restore the shine to white tiles.
The cunning: Cover the tiles with a layer of silicone wax: they will have a satin appearance and will be easier to clean as the stains will remain on the silicone. With a cloth apply the wax on the clean tiles, let it dry for 2 or 3 hours and then polish everything, you will see what a splendor!

Unclog the pipes
To clean the pipes, periodically drop boiling water mixed with caustic soda. If you see that a duct is totally blocked, insert a rubber tube connected to a pump (for example the one you use to inflate the beach mattress) and pump the air several times. You will see that compressed air will blow the filling.
