Grandmothers, mothers and daughters: three generations of beauty routines compared

A survey conducted on a sample of 412 women between the ages of 50-64 showed how the beauty routine has changed through the generations. Hairbrush and powder were always present in the handbags of grandmothers and our mothers never gave up on lipstick, while the younger ones focus everything on their eyes, always carrying an eyebrow pencil and mascara.

The survey conducted by the Victoria website, a portal dedicated to women born between 1950 and 1964, showed that 50-year-olds have learned to take care of themselves in the last 10 years: women who have no "beauty gesture" are drastically decreased, from 20% to 8.3%.

Healthy habits are not only constantly growing, but are passed down from mother to daughter. Removing make-up before going to sleep and not exposing yourself to the sun without sunscreen are two gestures that allow both to have a glowing skin and to avoid incurring more serious diseases.

But how did our mothers learn to wear makeup? They are gods self made woman, that is, they learned how to apply lipstick, eyeshadow and foundation completely on their own, while the younger ones, also thanks to the advent of the internet, use new learning tools such as video tutorials.
