Allergies to cosmetics are increasing
The alarm bell was raised by the British dermatologists who, during the conference of the "British Association Of Dermatologists" held recently in Liverpool, invited the European Commission to review the limits of the use of these substances, among other things already previously reduced.
A request made after two studies, respectively of the Leeds Center for Dermatology and of the St. Thomas "Hospital in London, have shown that these preservatives have made a considerable contribution to the increase in contact allergies. “In England the allergy rate due to the two preservatives has increased over the years and is currently close to 10%, in some cases even higher” - said David Orton, President of the British Society Of Cutaneous Allergy.
