50 shades: the protagonists chosen
E. L. James, the author of the most read erotic trilogy in contemporary literature, has revealed on her twitter account the names of the two actors she has chosen to play the role of the dark Christian Gray and the young and innocent (at least initially) Anastasia Steele.
He is Charlie Hunnam, a British actor made famous by his role in the series Queer as Folk And Sons of Anarchy as well as for his most recent role in Pacific Rim: tall, blond, blue eyes, he will play the most renowned dominator among women, Christian Gray.
Anastasia Steele, on the other hand, the shy 21-year-old with brown hair, big eyes who will be catapulted into the perverse world of Mr. Gray, will be played by Dakota Johnson. Although the name may sound new to you, the very young American actress (born in 1989) is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and starred in the recent film 21 Jump street.
The writer, who was declared by Forbes the richest in the world, has chirped on the social network: "I am happy to let you know that the delightful Dakota Johnson has accepted the part of Anastasia" then "The beautiful and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian".
The film adaptation of the trilogy is expected to hit theaters in August 2014 and will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and will be produced by Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca (The Social Network).
