Women's Circle 2014: Oxfam's charity event to support women from countries in need

Yesterday in Milan, at the East End Studios, Women's Circle 2014, the great Oxfam Italia fundraising event with the aim of helping women in difficulty in the Third World countries, where the association operates. an evening of great music with Malika Ayane, ambassador of Oxfam Italy, Lisa Stansfield, queen of British soul, and the Dire Straits Legends, who entertained the more than 1,000 people present in the hall with their most famous songs.

The event allowed Oxfam to raise over € 400,000 in participant fees, contributions from supporting companies, subscription proceeds and charity fishing offers. Thanks to the funds raised, Oxfam will be able to free 6,000 farmers and their families from hunger and poverty: in Haiti as in Ecuador or Morocco, creating job and income opportunities, accompanying them along the entire production chain, from sowing to access. market.

The evening, which saw the participation on stage of Livia Firth, Oxfam ambassador, Antonella Antonelli, founder of The Circle Italy, and Maurizia Iachino, president of Oxfam, was presented by Ilaria D’amico, ambassador of Oxfam Italy, flanked by Luca Bizzarri and Paolo Kessisoglu, animators of charitable fishing, who saw exceptional prizes up for grabs.

The contribution of Oxfam Italia partners, companies and supporters, added to that of all the other participants, will help many women, distant yet close, from Ecuador to Vietnam, to cultivate and implement work and life projects ".
