Remove the stain from a tablecloth

Red wine stains

Sprinkle the salt spot and then wet it with a little hot water. Another solution is to wash the tablecloth in soap and water, always after sprinkling the stain with salt, and finally rinse everything with lemon juice.

To combat red wine, nothing better than white wine! Quietly pour white wine on the stain, dab with a sponge and rinse in very hot water, the result is immediate! If you don't have white wine, you can also use boiling milk.

If a halo remains on the fabric, wash the tablecloth with soap and water (never use bleach).

Good to know: to eliminate sparkling wine and white wine stains, a little water is often enough, the important thing is to act quickly!

Grease stains

For oil stains, gently blot the stain with a rag dipped in flammable alcohol and then wash the tablecloth in the washing machine with the usual program. If the stain resists, dip the tablecloth in a little bleach diluted with water (white cotton tablecloth) or dab the stain with 90 ° ethyl alcohol or white vinegar (other fabrics).

In the case of grease stains, pass some potato starch on the stain, wait a few hours and then clean the tablecloth with the brush: the potato starch should absorb the excess fat. Finally, wash the tablecloth as you usually do.

Chocolate stains

Make a mixture of glycerin and egg yolk and pass it on the stain. Leave it on for 30 minutes, rub the stain and rinse the fabric with hot water. If you don't have any of this at hand, you can also spread the tablecloth vertically and pass a jet of boiling water over it.

Wax stains

Place a sheet of blotting paper on both sides of the tablecloth and run the hot iron over the stain. The blotting paper should absorb the wax.

Spots of gravy

Nothing better than a little hot water and trichlorethylene! Then wash the tablecloth as usual.

Stains from tea or coffee

Just rub the stain first with hot water and then with a little glycerin (in the case of coffee stains, apply warm glycerin). Finally, wash the tablecloth, rinse it with hot water and iron it inside out while it is still damp.

Another solution is to pass Marseille soap over the stain. Then dip the tablecloth in hot water before proceeding with a good rinse.

Fruit stains

Dab the stain with glycerin, let it sit for a while and then rinse well. If it's a red fruit stain, soak the fabric with lemon juice or curdled milk. On older stains you will first have to apply hydrogen peroxide, then ammonia and finally you will have to rinse everything under running water.

Vegetable stains

The most difficult stains to remove are spinach and tomato stains. In the case of a spinach stain, scrub the fabric with a raw potato, dab it with soap and water, and then rinse.

As for the tomato, however, if the stain is recent it will be enough to rub it with very hot water and soap while if the stain is quite old you will have to immerse the tablecloth in a bath of water, soap and hydrogen peroxide and then you will have to rinse it well.
