How to choose the right product for face cleansing

We all know that, but it is good to always remember, the first fundamental gesture of the daily beauty routine is the cleansing of the skin of the face. But beware: the normal soap used to wash hands is not suitable for the delicate skin of the face as it contains too aggressive ingredients and formulas.

The skin is comparable to a sponge: during the day, the natural hydrolipidic film of the skin captures and absorbs smog, pollution and dust, hindering the physiological skin transpiration. Here, therefore, that the cleansing of the face, performed meticulously with specific and delicate cleansers, is essential to keep the skin in a good state of health for as long as possible.

But the concept of cleansing goes far beyond the "simple" elimination of dirt: thoroughly cleaning the face means taking care of yourself, preserving the skin in optimal conditions and preventing the deposit of bacteria, impurities and accumulations of sebum.

And if cleaning is essential - morning and evening - you must also try not to overdo it: cleansing the face too often can in fact weaken the thin natural layer that covers the skin, drying it out and making the skin more sensitive and prone to inflammation and pimples.

To cleanse your face properly it is first of all important to identify your skin type: dry, sensitive, normal or combination / oily. In fact, each skin type has specific needs that cannot be met by any cleanser on the market.

For dry and / or sensitive skin, for example, the use of delicate and alcohol-free detergents (such as micellar water) as well as rich in active ingredients, such as vegetable butters, with moisturizing, nourishing, emollient and film-forming.

In the case of combination and / or oily skin, however, priority should be given to thorough cleaning and the use of sebum balancing products, capable of reducing acne inflammations and, gradually, also sebaceous secretion. The rebound effect, however, is always lurking, so formulas that act in depth must be chosen, without being too aggressive.

Not just products: in fact, there are also ingredients that are more suitable for one or the other skin type.

Sweet almond oil, for example, is very suitable for nourishing sensitive, delicate and dry skin.

Rose water, on the other hand, is used to tone and tighten mixed skin or skin prone to seborrheic dermatitis.

For dry or sensitive skin, and as a preventive remedy against wrinkles, the cleansers based on hyaluronic acid, which deeply hydrates, are perfect.

After cleansing and drying the face, it is recommended to apply a nourishing, moisturizing and emollient cream both in the morning and in the evening to keep the skin soft, hydrated and radiant.
