Vertical or horizontal?
Vertical and horizontal lines are known to create an optical effect.
- The vertical lines they slender the figure and have a slimming effect. A skirt, trousers or a dress with vertical stripes easily find a place in the wardrobe and are ideal for looking slimmer.

- The horizontal lines tend to compress and enlarge the shapes. If you are chubby, it's best to avoid them in favor of vertical lines, if you don't want to risk looking fatter. If you are thin, however, the horizontal lines will help you to flesh out the shapes.

Wide or thin?
If you are round you will need to avoid wide and horizontal lines and choose thinner lines, as wide lines make you look fatter and are more suitable for those who are tall and slender. Color
Timeless are the classic black and white lines or at most white and blue. If you choose an unusual combination, be careful not to make mistakes in choosing the colors: orange and green or yellow and red lines could create an effect that is more harmful than original.

Avoid dressing completely in stripes, which by the way is no longer in fashion. Combine a red and white striped shirt with a solid color skirt or trousers, white or red, or even jeans, but avoid introducing other colors. Similarly, if you wear blue stripes, choose accessories in the same colors, such as white or blue, and leave the green bag in the closet. If, on the other hand, you are crazy about that striped bag, get it when you are dressed in a solid color.
You can also wear a belt on a nice striped dress, but it must be the same base color as the dress.
