1. Cleanse the skin

The first step is to cleanse the skin of the face. This means first of all removing make-up and any residue of dirt, using a delicate and effective product at the same time.
For this step, you can use a "micellar water or a cleansing balm. It is better to avoid the classic cleansers with a milky consistency, because they are too heavy and greasy, especially if you have oily skin with an acneic tendency.

Then remember to use a specific eye make-up remover for that much more sensitive part of the face.

2. Open the pores of the facial skin with the use of steam

Before proceeding with the actual cleansing, it is necessary to prepare the skin properly.
Like? By dilating the pores to allow subsequent beauty treatments to better penetrate the skin texture and ensure greater effectiveness.

To do this, just boil a medium-sized pot of water and add two tablespoons of baking soda, a bit as if you were preparing to make classic fumigations. At this point, we will place our face over the pot, covering it with a towel, and we will continue to breathe by inhaling the steam, which will not be dispersed, for at least 10-15 minutes. After the treatment, our pores will be dilated and we will be ready to give our skin all the treatments it needs.

If you have excessively sensitive skin, affected by couperose or with a tendency to redden, avoid this step, as it could irritate it further.

3. Remove dead cells and impurities with the help of a scrub or exfoliant

After having cleansed it and dilated its pores effectively, we are ready to purify it. Like? With the use of a do-it-yourself face scrub, which allows us to remove dead cells, impurities, any residual dirt or smog particles.

An excellent homemade scrub uses the classic cooking ingredients: honey (one spoon), brown sugar (6 teaspoons) and, if you have oily skin, even a few drops of lemon juice, with an astringent and detoxifying power.
If you have very dry skin, you can replace honey with yogurt, an ingredient with a strong emollient and refreshing action, and cane sugar with normal, much more delicate.
If your skin is particularly sensitive, opt for a little water emulsified honey with the addition of bicarbonate. Avoid this step entirely if you suffer from couperose.

Once you have obtained the most suitable mixture for your skin type, apply it on the face, massaging with delicate circular movements and focusing mainly on the T-zone - forehead, nose, chin - the parts of the face where comedones and blackheads are most concentrated. However, take care to avoid the eye contour area.
At the end of the treatment, rinse everything gently with warm water and dry with a delicate and not rough cloth.

4. Apply a face mask suitable for your skin type

To completely purify the skin, continue with a natural face mask, taking care to choose it according to your skin type.

If you have oily skin, you can opt for a mask based on green clay; you can also add a few drops of essential oil to taste and a tablespoon of natural yogurt. Apply everything and leave for 15-30 minutes.

In case of dry skin, prefer a mask with honey, egg and olive oil, all natural ingredients with a strong soothing and moisturizing power. You can also opt for two other highly nutritious recipes: avocado pulp and extra virgin olive oil or banana and low-fat yogurt.

For sensitive and inflamed skin the ideal is instead a mask based on aloe vera, refreshing and soothing, to which add a few drops of chamomile and calendula or cucumber juice and a teaspoon of yogurt.

If you have impure skin with many blackheads, here are the four most effective recipes: egg and flour, tea tree oil, green clay and sage essential oil, bicarbonate and lemon, black mask with vegetable charcoal.

Also in this case it is good to choose specific products for your skin type.
For example, oily and combination skin should prefer an astringent and purifying tonic, which allows to intervene effectively against dilated pores and excess sebum, also reducing the unpleasant greasy effect to which these types of skin are most exposed.

For dry or sensitive skin, an energizing and soothing product is better, which helps to give elasticity and brightness, without running the risk of dehydrating or irritating it further.

Soak a cotton ball and apply it on the face by gently tapping on the various areas, avoiding the eye area.

6. A good moisturizer or face serum

Here we are at the last step: the application of a face cream that guarantees hydration, while respecting the characteristics of each skin. That is why it is essential to choose the right cream for your face.

Choose it rich and very nourishing if you have dry or sensitive skin, which needs a good dose of hydration and elasticity. A purifying lotion, light, oil free and not too rich, will instead be ideal for oily skin that tends to grease easily and is more prone to the appearance of pimples, blackheads and imperfections. Opt for a delicate and soothing product if you have particularly sensitive and irritated skin or with a tendency to redden.

During the application, also combine a toning and relaxing massage: proceed with circular movements, from the chin to the forehead, in order to reactivate the microcirculation and promote natural cell regeneration. In this way the skin will be more elastic, luminous and colored. less dull and dull.
