Oligomenorrhea: what it is and how it is treated
If the time will tend to dilate it could even lead to amenorrhea.
This pathology is one of the most frequent among women, especially young people and during the first year of menstruation, when the body is still in the settling phase.
The causes
See also Rhinitis in pregnancy: what it is and how it is treated Folliculitis: what it is and how it is treated Claustrophobia: Symptoms, Causes and TreatmentAs we said, for the very young the causes are natural and oligomenorrhea is part of the path of their formation as women. However, this disorder can also affect adulthood and in this case it can be linked to hyperandrogenism, or a high rate of male hormones.
Oligomenorrhea can also occur in women with a multifollicular ovary.
Other triggers can be linked to psycho-physical stress, anxiety, strangeness and worries.
On the other hand, the correlation between oligomenorrhea and premature menopause is still to be verified: there are several factors that could make us think of the former as a signal of the latter, but it is not certain.
Symptoms
The most obvious symptom is of course the delay of the period, but others can occur such as persistent abdominal pain and emotional changes.
The cure
The advice is always to go to a gynecologist, who will be able to make a correct diagnosis and possibly prescribe a progestin hormone therapy, able to regulate the menstrual cycle and thus put an end to the oligomenorrhea.
