Allowances and bonuses to which working mothers are entitled

Carolina Casolo is the founder of Sportello Mamme, a digital service whose mission is to simplify the bureaucracy that revolves around the economic bonuses of the family unit. By providing free and digitally usable information, it is a real point of reference for parents and for those who are about to become one. Before going into detail, we recommend the video below to learn more about the issue of voluntary resignations.

Here's how Sportello Mamme is useful for parents

The first step is the compilation of an onboarding questionnaire, thanks to which mothers and fathers receive a free response in real time on the types of bonuses available for their household. This is followed by a free call from a consultant who deepens the response and clarifies any doubts about the bonus and reward to which one is entitled. At this point, parents can decide whether to activate the annual subscription service made available by Sportello Mamme, which includes ongoing advice (by phone or email) and the evasion of all bonuses available to the customer.
The ultimate goal is to be able to provide families with a digital and smart tool to be able to independently manage all pension-related practices, obtaining clear and transparent information.

Identikit of the working mother: some data

In Italy, the female employment rate is very low: one in two women does not work. If we then consider how many female workers are also mothers, the numbers drop even more. This is why Sportello Mamme wants to be a way to help and make families more aware of their possibilities, in a context in which Italian welfare is not yet in step with the times.
Because of the difficulties in managing family and work, many women reduce their working hours (and salaries), while others leave their jobs altogether. Therefore, fewer and fewer families can count on a double income, and those in where it is only the man who contributes economically to the needs of his wife and children. In all of this, we must also consider the psychological aspect that sees women depriving themselves of their career, abandoning a job that made her feel affirmed.

The reasons why working mothers do not know their rights

Here are the main reasons why working mothers often fail to understand what their rights are.
In the first place the lack of information: it is often difficult to find clear and correct information, and one encounters conflicting news. Furthermore, the Italian bureaucracy is notoriously slow, medical certificates are often requested, but then during the approval phase of the requests they are rejected. Or, more frequently than one might think, important documents are lost during the telematic transmission of applications. Finally, the biggest problems are for women who work as freelancers, because this status is almost always not recognized in the right way and causes the "disbursement of the allowance" to suffer conspicuous delays.
