How to have lucid dreams: a good way to learn to be conscious when you sleep (and after!)

There are no real techniques for having lucid dreams in the course of the night. However, there are many types of experiences to try if you intend to have lucid dreams. In general, thinking about practice rather than theory, there are 4 different ways to induce lucid dreams.

MILD (mnemonic induction of lucid dreams): the most used technique which consists of a self-induced mnemonic conditioning. It seems difficult but it is not: you just need to focus your attention on wanting to recognize the moment of the dream. Usually this type of theory is used to avoid greater dangers.

CAT (cycle adjustment technique): according to Daniel Love, creator of this idea, it is possible to modify the sleep cycle and increase one's chances of having a lucid dream. This theory consists in waking up 90 minutes earlier than necessary, resuming the previous times, in order to have an intensified state of alert in the last REM phase of rest.

WBTB (wake back to bed): This alternation of sleep and wakefulness will help you have a lucid dream. All you have to do is wake up after 5/6 hours remaining awake and alert for about an hour and thinking only of the moment when you can say that you have reached lucid dreaming (MILD). Only after 60 minutes can you sleep if you feel like it and with an even greater chance of achieving lucid dreaming. The REM phases intensify and lengthen as you rest!

WILD (wake initiated lucid dreams): this is one of the most controversial techniques. In fact, this technique consists in starting to dream without actually falling asleep, relaxing the body and while the hypnagogic images materialize in front of you. As soon as you fall asleep, you will realize that you are living a lucid dream: you are the master of the action, you can lead the game according to the times and methods you want.
