Stop seasonal allergies: 10 tips to fight them

For some people, the symptoms of allergy are mild and the discomfort is only temporary, but if the symptoms are more persistent they can weaken and negatively affect performance at work, at school and, in general, in everyday life. Finding the right treatment probably doesn't completely eliminate symptoms, but it can significantly improve the situation.

If you also suffer from it, try these 10 tips.

1. Check the seasonality of pollen and spores

On the pollinieallergia.net website, by selecting the region you are interested in and possibly selecting each single pollen or fungal spore, you will be able to view, for each individual allergen, the pollen count of the week compared to that of the previous week and also obtain the trend ( increasing, decreasing or stationary if the variation between the two weeks is less than 20%). When concentration is particularly high, try to avoid being too much outdoors.

3. Stay calm

A study has shown that the day after severe stress, people are more reactive to allergy episodes. Cultivate calm and, if necessary, practice some meditation or yoga.

4. Boil the sheets

Not in the pot! But make sure you wash the sheets every week at at least 140 °, a temperature that ensures the elimination of any bacteria present or accidentally deposited pollen.

5. Get prescribed the right antihistamine

With the increase and spread of allergies, the drugs and antihistamines available to keep their effects at bay have also multiplied. Try to find together with your doctor the most suitable for your problem.

6. Delegate the house cleaning

If you don't have a partner to delegate to - or if you don't really want to know - you can get help from HELPLING, a platform that allows you to book domestic cleaning services conveniently online,

7. Try acupuncture

It may not necessarily work, but many people have benefited from it, apparently for its ability to reduce stress hormones and, consequently, inflammation of all kinds.

8. Carpet banned

Carpet - which fortunately is not very common in homes in Italy - is a real amusement park for bacteria, mites and so on and so forth. Opt for a more hygienic parquet, marble or classic tiles.

9. Wash your hair often

Especially if you use lacquers or gels, which also trap pollen and microbacteria in the hair.

10. ... And the nose too!

The nose is like the windshield of the car: it attracts everything! It is therefore essential to always keep it clean, perhaps with the help of a natural nasal spray based on cromolyn sodium.
