Gay couples: marriage permits are increasing

This ethic is also slowly infecting the Italian world of work. For now, only 25 Italian companies have participated in the “Diversity Index”, the award that the Parks foundation, founded by Oscar Scalfarotto, has created to raise awareness of the companies that perform better. Among these also Barilla, after the gaffe about families, Intesa Sanpaolo and Telecom, which have officially announced that they want to equate every kind of couple.

"The family life of LGBT people is often invisible in the workplace, with repercussions that can be negative in terms of career. It is important that those who lead an office or a sector know the candidates before choosing, and if you know everything about one. (wife or husband, children, lifestyle) and nothing else, it is easier for the choice to go towards the first ... ", comments Dario Longo of Linklaters, an international law firm based in Milan.

Each small step, therefore, can have a fundamental impact and contribute to changing the common sensitivity and to push companies to adopt initiatives also aimed at gender equality.
