Foods with fiber against asthma

A group of researchers from the "University of Lausanne has shown, through laboratory studies carried out on mice, that consuming foods high in fiber can help fight asthma.

Eating lots of fruit, vegetables and cereals in fact modifies the intestinal flora by producing "good" bacteria that enter the bloodstream and activate immune signals that help reduce inflammation and irritation of the respiratory tract.

Allergic asthma, for example, is much more common among people on a low-fiber diet.

In short, fibers are a very important part of our diet: in addition to being an ally against asthma, they reduce the risk of certain intestinal diseases, help prevent and control diabetes and cardiovascular diseases and, moreover, they satiate.

Some of the richest foods in fiber are: broad beans, artichokes, raspberries, lentils, pearl barley, beans, wholemeal bread, peas, and wholemeal pasta.
