The idea was born from the Retedonna Association which since 2000 has been promoting a network of professional and cultural exchanges between people who share the choice of reading the reality in which they live through a "gender perspective". What makes the help special is the relationship that is established between a female psychologist and a female user, rather than the mere contact between doctor and patient, with the belief that the comparison within the same sex can be functional to the well-being of those seeking assistance .
