Let's not stop: the project that reopens the conversation about the virus and reiterates the importance of prevention

Although it is no longer talked about, the HIV virus seems almost forgotten: it is talked about little and often badly, little research is carried out on it and the knowledge of prevention is very low.

For these reasons, the HIVNonfermoci project was born, supported by Janssen, SIMIT and ANLAIDS, with an advertising campaign that wants to communicate the fact that, although there is no longer talk of the virus, HIV infection is still ongoing. It is for this reason that information is important and it is essential to bring people's attention back to the importance of prevention in order to avoid infection.

"HIV has become a chronic disease thanks to the treatments available today, but it cannot therefore overshadow - comments Massimo Scaccabarozzi, CEO of Janssen Italia. "The data show very little attention to the issue and are worrying, as is the incidence of the disease. This is where our commitment and that of our partners in this initiative come from, which I consider extremely important and which I hope will receive the right attention. from the media ".

The campaign foresees, for 2015, a series of ongoing activities aimed at the public and doctors, supported by a site that will be launched during the month of December. www.hivnonfermiamoci.it

"Information is one of the most effective weapons to stop the spread of HIV infection - explains Mauro Moroni, national president of Anlaids - "It is essential that accurate information is made available on the effectiveness of the means of prevention, first of all the use of condoms in sexual intercourse, both heterosexual and homosexual. But it is also important that people know that, in case they expose themselves to risk to contract the infection, it is essential to carry out the HIV test regularly in order to be able to promptly start the therapy that today guarantees a good quality of life if taken on time and correctly. For this reason at Anlaids we are also working to improve the quality of the information available on the web ".

A campaign that brings attention to a virus that, although less talked about at the moment, continues to exist, with 75 million people infected since its appearance in the early 1980s and 36 million deaths and which hopes to be able to spread the right information on HIV virus and its prevention and treatment in case of infection.
