Emmy Awards 2013: the nominations
The nominations of this 65th edition, like last year, still see the regular presence of Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Modern Family, but also some news, let's see together which ones.
Among the best comedies we find Modern Family, 30 Rock, The Big Bang Theory, Girls, Louie (new entry in place of Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Veep. Still as regards the comedies, instead, we are talking about male actors: to challenge each other are Louis C.K. (Louie), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Jason Bateman (Arrested Development), Don Cheadle (House of Lies), Matt LeBlanc (Episodes) for the role of himself in the Anglo-American series launched in 2011, and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory). And women? We find Laura Dern, protagonist (and co-creator) of Enlightened, a series that tells the story of a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown; Lena Dunham (Girls), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation).
Let's move now to the drama TV series, among which the nominations cannot miss Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Homeland and the new entry House of Cards, the socio-political series adapted by the British homonymous BBC and launched on Netflix in February of this year. The title of Best Actress in a Drama TV Series is contended by Kerry Washington (Scandal), Connie Britton (Nashville), Claire Danes (Homeland), Michelle Dockery (Donwnton Abbey), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel, the series inspired by Psycho) , Elisabeth Moss (the Mad Men Penny) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).
