How to visit the Gucci Museum directly from your home
The Gucci Museum is now a heritage of Florence: it houses the historical pieces of the fashion house founded in the Tuscan capital in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, and stands next to the Palazzo Vecchio, in Piazza della Signoria, which together with the nearby Uffizi Gallery is part of the area of the city most frequented and loved by tourists.
The decision to found it was Frida Giannini, creative director of the brand, who on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Gucci brand, in 2011, decided to make known the immense archive from which she too inevitably draws for her new creations: the leather accessories, the famous print Flora, bags with bamboo handles, the constant reference to the world of horse riding and luxury luggage. Everything can be visited in this Museum of luxury, together with small exhibitions created by drawing on the art collection of François Pinault, president of the holding which also controls Gucci, Kering.
