Achille Lauro and Annalisa: the art of sharing the scene with a woman

Yesterday evening, dedicated to duets, Achille Lauro moves the Ariston thanks to an exciting reinterpretation of "Men do not change", an immortal masterpiece by an unforgettable Mia Martini. At his side Annalisa, one of the most talented voices of the contemporary Italian scene. On this occasion, the artist cancels any ambition of protagonism, demonstrating what is the correct way to share the stage and, why not, "take a step back" so as not to obscure the colleague and leave, indeed, that the singing skills of the latter could find the right emphasis. It must not be easy, in fact, to perform together with Achille, whose personality is objectively "bulky", in the good sense. The two, on the other hand, have been able to dance harmoniously with their voices without "crushing the feet" of each other.

Against conventions and discrimination

During the performance it was possible to witness the magic of a man who gives voice to a poignant text, putting himself in the shoes of a woman. No personal pronoun was, in fact. changed to fit the performer's gender. Achilles is not a slave to judgments nor to male-dominated rhetoric for which there is only one way of being a man, certainly without make-up, dressed exclusively in men's clothes and without any trace of nail polish. Achille is a free artist, perhaps anarchist, as he tried to define himself, and his rejection of conventions aims to cancel discrimination.

I'm made so I wear what I want and I like: are the fur, the clutch bag, the glittery glasses for women? Then I'm a girl. That's all? I want to be mortally infected by femininity, which for me means delicacy, elegance, candor. Every now and then someone says to me: what happened to you? I reply that I have become a young lady ”.

The tribute to David Bowie, transformist like him

It will be for this reason that Lauro chooses to pay homage to David Bowie by transforming himself into Ziggy Stardust, one of the many personalities displayed by the singer over time. "Rebellious soul, symbol of absolute artistic expressive and sexual freedom as well as non-toxic masculinity", this is the reason behind the choice of the Roman rapper who is not afraid to play with his own identity, but above all sexuality. A fluid being who loves excesses and transgressions in their pure state. The similarity to the White Duke is remarkable, but Achilles does not have the absolute presumption of comparing himself with him on a vocal level. Aware of his talents, he is even more so than his limits and faces the stage of the Ariston without any arrogance.
